I had a horrible experience on New Year's Eve - my first day out and about after Ritux. infusion and miserable ensuing infection. A car pulled straight out from parked, across the bus lane and into the side of me. I had to slam on the brakes and try to steer away as much as possible without going into oncoming traffic.

I pulled into the side and fully expected the driver to get out and be profusely apologetic ... but no! She was livid! Demanding to know why I turned into her! Her 2 male passengers got out and were effing and jeffing at me, taking photos and all the while she was yelling at me. A man came over the road and said he had seen what happened and confirmed that she had pulled straight out on me. I got his details and swapped with the furious 3rd party. The woman by this time had demanded to take a photo of me in case I had given her false details and I was very shaken up by then.

It has all been quiet over the bank hols but the witness texted me to say he had been contacted and had explained what he saw. The insurance have just rung to say they will be able to claim my costs of repair and replacement hire car from her insurers so I am very glad it is almost sorted. The whole thing was horrible and not what I needed on my first venture into the real world again!

Why do drivers have to be so flipping nasty??? xx Ailsa

Hi Ailsa,

Sorry you had this dreadful experience.
Makes me wonder if she wasn't one of those who do this on purpose and then claim compensation for "whiplash".
Thank goodness you had a witness.
Hope you're not too shaken up by it.

Love Doreen xx

What a horrid experience Ailsa, hope you ok.

There are lots of horrid bad tempered drivers out there, and prob because they knew they were in the
wrong that they decided to yell and shout.

Glad you getting it sorted out. Hope you not got any whip lash.

Take care

Hi Ailsa

What a great start to the new year! I am glad there was a witness. They don't have a leg to stand on now.

Doreen - I am thinking along the same lines as you. You hear of this happening a lot and it makes you wonder.

Hope you get this sorted out quickly Ailsa then you can get on with concentrating on your health.

Hi Ailsa

What a horrible start to the new year for you. It never ceases to amaze me just how unpleasant and self centered people have become these days ( not everyone of course!)

My first reaction was the same as Doreen's too.

I'm glad you have a witness and hope things can be sorted out for you quickly.

Take care

Dear Ailsa
I am so sorry this happened. It's hard enough to get out there confidently without something like this happening. Like the others who have commented I am so glad you had a witness as things could have been so much worse without. Meanwhile this has left you, the completely innocent party, shaken up. I have to wonder too if there was some kind of scam going on. On the other hand some people are simply not very nice and will always blame others for their own wrongdoing. Well they got what they deserved in this case as you have been completely exonerated. Please try not to let them put you off getting back behind the wheel. You have dealt with RA so must be a strong woman. Don't let these buggers get you down. This can be a lesson to all of us in a way as we should always stop to offer assistance as a witness if we see something like this happening. You have shown how crucial to justice the witness was in your case. I hope you get over this horrible incident soon. Best wishes from Naomi X
